A New Year for Learning

• COLORED PENCILS: Award-winning artist, Mark Menendez, will be the guest instructor a Colored Pencils Workshop on Saturday, January 25. Register online at lectampa.org, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or sign up in person.  You must sign up and pay (in person or online) by Friday, January 17 so that we can order supplies. No walk-ins for this workshop!

• SPANISH: Learn Spanish in a casual setting with Ricardo Cruz and Cathy Peltzman. Starting on Monday, January 27 10 am – 12pm, Ricardo will lead a Beginning Conversational Spanish group.  No experience with Spanish is necessary. Free for LEC members. Club News

• YARN ARTS CLUB is here! The new Yarn Arts Club will have its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, January 22 from 9:30am -11:30pm in the LEC Library.  Bring a yarn-based project to work on (or to get help with).  Attendance is in-person only. • PHOTO CLUB ZOOM: The Photo Club Zoom meeting for January will take place on January 22. Register online at lectampa.org to receive the Zoom link.

Opportunities to Volunteer

• OUTREACH:   Would you like to become an Outreach Instructor for the LEC?  Our outreach consists of monthly visits to ALFs or Adult Day Care centers. If you are interested or want more information, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or ask Arleen.

• FAIR DEMO ARTISTS: Create your art and attend the Fair for free! Not only do Demo Artists receive a free ticket to the Fair for the day they demo, they also can sell their art.  If you are interested or would more information, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or let us know in person.

• AT LEC: Volunteers are needed for afternoon shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. If you are interested or would like more information, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or let us know in person

• TECH TOPICS NEEDED: We have received requests for classes on technology use. What do you need or would like to learn?  Please tell us through email info@lectampa.org, calling (813) 932-0241, or the next time you’re here.

• FIELD TRIP: A field trip to the 50^th annual International Miniature Arts Show is planned for Friday, January 31. The Show is in Largo this year. Sign up on the Resource table, email info@lectampa.org, or call (813) 932-0241. Drivers are needed, so please indicate if you are willing to drive.

Membership News

• MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL:  January is membership renewal month. You can renew online or in person.  Annual membership for individuals is $40; annual family membership (2 people) is $60. If you joined recently, you may not need to renew yet. Please call us if you have questions.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

A Celebration of Life for LEC member, Elaine Mazzo, will take place at the LEC on Sunday, January 26 from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the LEC in Elaine’s name.
