Board Members’ Retirement
It is with deep gratitude and admiration that we announce the retirement of two outstanding members of our Board of Trustees, Barbara Koehler and Jim Kallaher. For many years, they have generously shared their time, talents, and wisdom—helping to guide our mission and strengthen our ties to the community. Their leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment have left an enduring legacy at the Life Enrichment Center.
Barbara, born in New York and raised in West Palm Beach, FL, was married to her late husband, Bill, for 60 wonderful years. A graduate of Providence Hospital School of Nursing, she enjoyed a fulfilling career in nursing before turning her focus to the arts—-a passion she embraced here at the Life Enrichment Center. For 18 years, Barbara served faithfully on our Board of Trustees, lending her thoughtful insight and steadfast support to every endeavor.
Jim joined the Board in 2010, serving as Chair for eight of his fifteen years. Beyond his role at the LEC, he is the Senior Coordinator and Small Business Account Manager for Capital One’s
Spark Elite card division. In 2019, Jim was elected Chair of the Hillsborough County Commissioners Public Art Committee, reflecting his long-standing dedication to fostering the arts. After steering the L.E.C. through COVID and numerous challenges, Jim steps down as he and his wife, Abby, begin a new chapter in their lives in North Carolina.
Barbara and Jim’s contributions have shaped our organization in countless ways, and we are deeply grateful for their years of service, leadership, and friendship. Their presence on the Board will be missed, but their impact will be felt for years to come.
