Announcements for the Week of August 25th – 31st
Did you know…
Mobius strips are loops that look double-sided but are actually single-sided. Although named after August Mobius, this mathematical phenomenon was simultaneously “discovered” by Mobius and his colleague, Johann Benedict Listing, in 1858.
Today, you can find Mobius strips everywhere. They are used in some conveyor belt systems and for typewriter ribbons. You can visit the natural rock formation, Mobius Arch, in California. M.C. Escher even engraved red ants marching on a yellow Mobius strip loop in his Mobius Stirp II. Where have you seen Mobius strips?
