Class & Workshop News

• SHAMROCKS GALORE: Cathy Stump will teach how to create unique cards featuring quilled shamrocks during a Quilled Card-making Workshop on Saturday, March 8 from 10am – 12pm.  Register online here,  email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or sign up in person.

• AIR-DRY CLAY: Brenda Raj will offer a 4-week Air-dry Clay Sculpture class on Thursdays from 10am – 12pm starting March 13.  Participants need to attend all classes to be able to complete the project.  Register online here,  email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or sign up in person.

• RELAX! On Saturday, March 22 from 10am to 12pm, licensed massage therapist Dale Hartman will teach you how to give and receive a massage, with a focus on self-massage. Register online here,  email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or sign up in person.

• BEGINNERS-ONLY PASTELS: Janice Shindle will teach a beginners-only pastels workshop on pastels on Saturday, March 29 from 10am – 12pm.  Pastels techniques learned in the workshop can also be applied to other media like colored pencils.  Register online here,  email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or sign up in person.

Club News

• PHOTO CLUB: The next field trip will be on Tuesday, March 11 to Edward Medard Conservation Park in Plant City. The group will meet there at 10am. For more information, email info@lectampa.org.  The monthly Photo Club online meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 19 from 1:30-3pm.

• YARN ARTS CLUB: The Yarn Arts Club will NOT meet on Wednesday, March 5.

• A NEW READ: Book Club 2.0 will meet in person during the last week in March to discuss the book Someone Like Us by Dinow Mengestu.  Everyone is welcome to join. Other LEC News

• FOOD WITH FRIENDS: Our March Potluck will be Wednesday, March 5 from 12 pm – 1 pm.  The guest speaker will be local author and LEC member, Judy Gray.  Please join us as she discusses the book she recently co-authored, Unwavering: The Wives Who Fought to Ensure No Man is Left Behind.  It is the inspiring and little-known true story of POW and MIA wives who, during the Vietnam War, bucked tradition and cultural norms. Admonished by government officials to “keep quiet” after being told their husbands and sons went missing, these gutsy women endured a myriad twists and turns, spoke up, and moved from the sidelines to the frontlines of advocacy.

• NEW IN THE LEC GALLERY: Congratulations to all the LEC artists who entered this year’s Creative Living Art Competitions.  Award-winning art from the Fair will be on display in the LEC Gallery throughout the month of March.

• VOLUNTEER AT THE LEC: Volunteers are needed for afternoon shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. If you are interested or would like more information, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or let us know in persoon.
