Class, Workshop, & Club News

• Watercolor “Paint-along” Workshop with Roxanne Tobaison: Monday, January 12 (9:30am – 12pm; $20/$25) PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. NO WALK-INS. If you are registered to attend, please bring a sheet of 9”x12” watercolor paper (coldpress; 140lb) or purchase one from the L.E.C. for $1 the morning of the class. • Calligraphy (3-week class): Thursdays starting January 15 (10a-12p. $12/$15) You do not need nice handwriting for this class. All experience levels and handwriting styles welcome! Bring a cartridge-style calligraphy pen, borrow one from the instructor, or purchase one at the L.E.C.’s art store.

• Acrylic Paint Party: Saturday, January 17 (11a-1p; $20/$25) Join our paint party, and create an old Florida scene inspired by the art of the Florida Highwaymen. No experience necessary. • WANT TO LEARN MAH JONGG? The next 8-week Intro to Mah Jongg class (Mondays 1-3:30pm) will be starting soon. If you are interested in learning Mah Jongg in the new year, please email info@LECtampa.org or call (813) 932-0241 to be added to the interest list.

• WANT TO LEARN TO DRAW? We are scheduling a 4-week Beginning Drawing class (Fridays 1-3 pm) and a 4-week Intro to Portrait Drawing class (Thursdays 10am -12pm). If you are interested in these drawing classes, please email info@LECtampa.org or call (813) 932-0241 to be added to the interest list.

• WINTER ART WANTED: The LEC Gallery is changing seasons! The LEC Gallery is transitioning to a winter wonderland this week. Please drop off submissions of winter-inspired art to adorn our Gallery walls. For more information, email info@LECtampa.org or call (813) 932-0241.

• DEMO ARTISTS WANTED: What does a Demo Artist do? Creates art. Answers questions. Promotes the Life Enrichment Center. If you are interested in being a Demo Artist at the State Fair (Feb. 5-16), please contact Jennifer (jennifer@LECtampa.org or 813-932-0241).

• WEEKDAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Please email info@LECtampa.org if you are interested in helping for a couple hours a month (or more) with a variety of tasks. We will try to pair your skills, interests, and availability with our needs.
