• BOOK CLUB 2.0 SEPTEMBER DISCUSSION: Read or listen to Sisters of Night and Fog by Erika Robuck, then join the discussion on Monday, September 29 (10am -12pm) at the Panera on N. Dale Mabry. • “GUZZLE” SOME POEMS: On Thursdays from 10:30am – 12pm the Poetry class meets online and in person. No experience necessary. The topic for this week is “Ghazal Poetry – From Arabia with Love.” Did you know…? Rumi, the 13th century Persian poet, wrote more than 3,000 ghazals! In English, “ghazal” is pronounced exactly like “guzzle,” as in “Let’s guzzle some ghazals and get drunk on poetry.” Register online HERE, email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or just stop by.

• WATERCOLOR PAINT-ALONG: Monday, October 6 (9:30am – 12pm) $20 / $30 Supplies included. No experience necessary. • BEAD & WIRE “BERRIES”: Friday, October 10 (1 – 3pm) $10 / $12 Supplies included. No experience necessary. “It’s time to create handmade earrings! Friday, October 10th from 1:00-3:00 pm, be there or be square! Debra Joy Peisner, jeweler/instructor, will assist you to make your own earring wires, “berry” bead dangles, and beaded key chains. These handmade items make nice gifts too! Wire is very forgiving. If you make a mistake you can start over. • SUPPLIES NEEDED: coffee creamer, individual bottles of water

• AUTUMNAL ART WANTED: The Commemorative Art Exhibition is still on display in the LEC Gallery. However, on October 1, there will be a new set of artworks to view. Instead of an Artist of the Month, autumn-inspired art will adorn the walls. • ART, CRAFT, & PHOTO COMPETITION–Greater Hillsborough County Fair 2025: Calling all artists, photographers, & crafters who live in Hillsborough County! The Greater Hillsborough County Fair (NOT the Florida State Fair) is October 30 – November 9. You can enter your creations in their Family Living Competitions, but entry forms MUST be submitted/postmarked on or before Wednesday, October 1. There is NO entry fee, & the LEC will drop off (& pick up) your submissions for you. LEC BIRTHDAY PARTY & BASKET RAFFLE NEWS!
The Life Enrichment Center is celebrating its 45th Birthday on November 8, 2025 from 10 am to 2 pm.  As in years past, we’ll have vendors, a basket raffle, and more.

• BASKET SUPPLIES NEEDED: empty baskets, ribbon, tissue paper

• VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! If you would like to help wrap and decorate baskets on Monday 9/29 and/or Tuesday 9/30, please email info@lectampa.org, call (813) 932-0241, or just stop by.

• BASKET RAFFLE: Throughout the month of October, the baskets being raffled will be on display at the LEC.  Tickets go on sale soon!
