Commemorative Art Exhibition on Display:
Come view the Commemorative Art Exhibition currently on display at the Life Enrichment Center! Forty-three of our talented member artists shared their creativity in this special show, with works ranging from still life and portraits to imaginative fantasy pieces representing a wide array of mediums.   The exhibition, in honor of the L.E.C.’s 45th birthday, closes August 30.   View the catalogue for the exhibition HERE.

PAINT-ALONG WORKSHOP with “Bob Ross” and “Frida Kahlo”: Saturday, September 6 (10am – 12pm) FREE!. Materials provided.  The legendary “Bob Ross” and the iconic “Frida Kahlo” are visiting the L.E.C. as guest instructors to help us celebrate out 45th birthday!  Get ready to paint a serene mountain scene filled with puffy clouds and happy little trees.  This workshop is designed for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned painter or picking up a brush for the first time. And here’s an exciting twist: if you would like, you can come in costume! Whether it’s channeling your inner Bob or embracing the colorful spirit of Frida, we encourage you to express yourself in style. • SCRAPBOOKING WORKSHOP with Jackie Meyer: Monday, August 25 (9:30am – 12:30pm) Most materials included. Bring 4-8 related photos (4″x6″ or smaller) No experience necessary. Creatively preserve cherished memories in this workshop where you’ll craft two scrapbook pages that are not just beautiful—but also archival-quality! Discover techniques and tips to transform your photos and mementos into magical snapshots of your life’s most memorable moments. Pre-registeration required. No walk-ins.

• POETRY MEETS ART: On Thursdays from 10:30am – 12pm the Poetry class meets online and in person. No experience necessary. The topic for this week is “Poems About Pictures” (sometimes called ekphrastic poems). You don’t need to be able to pronounce the Greek word ekphrastic to write an ekphrastic poem. The poem is the poet’s meditation on a piece of visual art–normally, a work that the reader could find or look up if it’s not published alongside the poem; normally, not your own art.
